If you’re looking for wireless earphones as an alternative to Airpods, we recommend the SoundPEATS Air 3.

The Air3 uses Bluetooth 5.2 pairing with AptX Adaptive codec. When you buy a unit, it comes with a USB-C cable and its own set of instructions.

The SoundPEATS Air 3 case is made out of plastic, so to some it may come off as cheap and toy-like. But we think it makes up for it with its elegant matte finish.

It’s a very lightweight set of earphones, even lighter that its already remarkably light SoundPEATS predecessors (the TrueAir2 and TrueAir2 Plus.) 

It has a solid build without silicone tips (similar the classic AirPods design) and are generally comfortable to wear for hours at a time.

This set can last up to 4.5 hours playing time on a single charge, and the SoundPEATS charging case can accommodate 2 full charges for the earphones. In the front, the Air 3 has an LED indicator light in front to show how much battery it still has.

What we love about the Air 3 is its great audio quality for calls! The sound is loud, clear, and crisp. We found that the SoundPEATS Air 3 is also good for gaming because it has low latency or lag time. 

It shouldn’t be a problem if they get a little bit wet with rain or sweat, as the Air 3 is IPX5 waterproof!

When you use it for an outdoor run, the earphones may pick up wind noise. These earphones are not noise cancelling by any means, so if you’re looking for that you’ll have to find something else.

If you’re looking for a flashy and unique set of earphones that pack a lot of punch in terms of audio quality, comfort, and design, you will love the Sabbat X12 Pro.

These are in-ear earphones without rubber tips (a fit similar to AirPods but without the stems) which are extremely comfortable to put on. 

The X12 Pros have great style. They come in multiple colorways from white-blue, black with pink and blue accents, to all-pink and all-green.

It promises 5 to 6 hours of listening time, and its charging case could fully charge the unit 5 times!

The cherry on top is that the Sabbat earphones promise exactly what you want in a set of earphones: its sound quality is excellent. You get a concert-like experience listening to music on the X12 Pro, with rich, realistic, and balanced sound.

What we love about this Sabbat model is that it’s great for making calls (probably the best one in our review!). It uses CVC or clear voice capture technology for remarkable in-call audio quality.

Our critique is that for some people, these Sabbat earphones could fall off easily, especially for those with smaller ears. You might have to push it in to secure it better.

We recommend that you secure the earphones in the charging case properly to make sure it charges, as there are times when it doesn’t charge because of improper placement.

Don’t expect noise-cancellation features on the X12 Pros, but note that this makes it a good pair to use when commuting. You can hear outside noises without sacrificing great sound quality for your music.

If what you’re looking for is quality music listening at a reasonable price, we recommend you go for the RealMe Buds Q.

Also a set of very lightweight earphones, they’re packaged in smooth, pebble-like cases that come in white, yellow, and black. These resemble Samsung Galaxy buds at just a fraction of the price!

Each unit comes with a short micro-USB cable, and it uses Bluetooth 5.0 to connect with other devices. We found that both Android and Apple users can use the RealMe Link App to control their Buds Q.

The Buds Q have amazing sound quality for music listening, and its best asset there is a dynamic bass boost.

These earphones use passive noise isolation with its rubber-tip earbuds. It also has a touch sensor for commands like pause/play.

They offer 4.5 hours of straight music listening, but the case can go up to 20 hours on a single charge. We can charge the Buds Q in less than an hour, so it basically gives you a whole day’s worth of use!

The Buds Q also has a game mode which improves latency or lag time, and you can use it for up to 5 hours of straight gaming.

The main problem with the Buds Q is its connectivity issues. For some, pairing it for the first time to your phone or laptop is tricky.

While its music listening experience is great, we don’t recommend relying on the Buds Q for calls. Its in-ear microphone is not so great, and its overall in-call audio quality needs improvement.

The cheapest true wireless earphones in our review is the Xiaomi RedMi AirDots 2.

These earphones are plug and play, all very easy to set up. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 and has a great transfer rate, faster than its predecessor in the AirDots 1.

What we love about the RedMi Airdots 2 is that they come in different sizes, so you can be sure to find a pair that fits the most comfortably for you. It also has a nice, sleek design that competes with earphones similar to it sold at a higher price point.

It can go up to 3.5 to 4 hours of straight listening, and its case has a battery life of 12 hours. You can charge the RedMi Airdots 2 up to 4 full charges in its case, with the full charge for earphones taking about 1.5 hours.

For a cheap pair of earphones, they offer superb sound quality. You can also use the multi-function button to enable its low-latency game mode by tapping it 3 times.

They have multi-function buttons on both earphones to pause/play music and take calls.

You can even enable Siri or Google Voice control on the unit.

It comes with a manual, its charging box, the pair of earbuds, and 2 pairs of ear caps to find the right fit for you. Its inclusions don’t include a micro-USB cable, so you’ll have to own one or purchase it separately.

Our other critique for this AirDots model is that while it has a built-in microphone, it’s far from excellent.

The RedMi AirDots 2 are advertised as waterproof, but we don’t recommend showering with it or getting it wet in the rain as it could still damage the system in the long-run.

If you want a unique set of earphones that would catch people’s eye from its charging case alone, you would want to check out the MeZone B6.

Its study rubber case cracks open diagonally for you to fish out your earphones, and it has a hook for easy handling and placement on your bag or keychain.

The earphones itself are bean-like in shape, Bluetooth 5.0 compatible, and are IPX7 waterproof and sweatproof.

What we love about the MeZone B6 is its superior sound quality, with a deep bass and crisp audio.

Its battery life is also praiseworthy, with a 6-8 hour playtime and a charging case that provide the earphones with 5 full charges.

This is also the only model in our review that supports wireless charging. The unit even comes with its own wireless charging pad, though it charges at just 5 watts.

The only downside we saw in the B6 model is that it can be tricky to distinguish and properly place the left and right earphone back into the case, especially in low light.

Its microphone is also very sensitive, so if you take a call in a public place, it could pick up a lot of ambient noise in the background.
